Azerbaijan has decided to recall its diplomats from Iran.

The Azerbaijani government has decided to recall its diplomatic staff from Iran. This was announced by the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

He emphasized that this decision was made by Ilham Aliyev. According to Bayramov, Baku plans to return all staff working at its diplomatic mission in Iran to the country.

This decision was made against the backdrop of reports of a drone attack on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on March 5. According to information from the Azerbaijani side, two drones struck an area near an airport building and a school, resulting in injuries to four civilians.

Baku has accused Iran of this attack, stating that a total of four drones were sent to the area.

Tehran has firmly denied these accusations. In a conversation with Bayramov, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that Iran is not involved in the attack and suggested that forces attempting to worsen relations between the two countries could be behind the incident.
