A group of individuals involved in the trade of narcotic substances has been apprehended in the Fergana region. The National Guard reported on this.

 

It is reported that a large quantity of narcotics was previously smuggled into the Surkhandarya region from Afghanistan by drug traffickers. Subsequently, these substances were hidden in a field area within the territory of the Yazyavan district of the Fergana region.

 

During a rapid operation, a private entrepreneur born in 1983, residing in the city of Margilan, and his accomplice born in 1989 were caught red-handed while retrieving a total of 9 kg 896 grams of "hashish" from a hidden location.

 

Furthermore, during the apprehension process, $14,500 and 6 million 250 thousand soums in cash were also confiscated from the entrepreneur who attempted to flee the scene.

 

During the pre-investigation inquiry, 110 grams of "opium," two electronic scales, $1,200, and 28 million soums in cash were discovered and officially documented as evidence from the residence of a citizen born in 1980, residing in the city of Fergana, who was found to be connected to this crime.

 

During the investigative actions, it was also established that two brothers born in 1990 and 1995 were involved in this criminal group.

 

According to the verdict of the Bogdad District Court in the criminal cases, a total of 5 defendants were found guilty under Articles 246, 273, and 276 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 12 to 15 years.
