A person engaged in unlicensed cryptocurrency turnover has been detained in Yashnobod district of Tashkent city. This was reported by the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs.

 

It is reported that during the inspection process, an iPhone 15 Pro belonging to a citizen born in 2004 in Syrdarya region and currently residing in Tashkent city was examined with the participation of witnesses. It was established that the citizen had been engaged in a large turnover of crypto assets through applications installed on their smartphone and various accounts.

 

In particular, the suspect had misappropriated a total of more than 556,100 USDT through illegal income-expenditure operations via P2P. This amount exceeds 6 billion 700 million soums.

 

During the investigation, the citizen expressed regret for their actions and stated they would not engage in such activities in the future.

 

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 278-8 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding this incident, and the preventive measure of detention has been applied against the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
