An official statement was made by Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Communications Department under the President of Turkey, regarding the armed attack against police officers serving in front of the "Yapı Kredi Plaza" buildings located in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to the official statement, the 3 individuals who carried out the attack have been neutralized. Thanks to the swift and decisive action of the security forces, a potential major threat has been averted.
Furthermore, during the armed clash, 2 police officers sustained minor injuries. They are receiving medical assistance.
It is reported that the identities of the attackers have been established, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated. Officials emphasized that this incident will not affect Turkey's determination to build a "terror-free state" and a "terror-free region".
Earlier, it was reported that in a prolonged shootout between police and attackers outside the Israeli consulate building in Istanbul, two attackers were killed, one of whom was seriously wounded.
