A verdict was issued against the girl who caused her friend's death by committing a hit-and-run in Surkhandarya.
The driver lost control of the vehicle after increasing speed, causing it to veer off the road and fall into the river.

A court verdict was read regarding the death of a female student in a road traffic accident that occurred in Surkhandarya region.
It is reported that on November 23, 2025, around 15:40, a 4th-year student from one of Tashkent's higher education institutions was driving her own Cobalt car, whose documents were not officially registered, along the Sherabad–Tashkent route.
She had taken along an acquaintance who studies at the same university with her so as not to travel the long distance alone. During the journey, the driver increased speed and lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and fell into the Sherabad River.
As a consequence of the accident, the female student who was a passenger in the car sustained severe bodily injuries and died at the scene.
According to the court verdict, the driver was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code.
He was sentenced to deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 3 years and to deprivation of liberty for a term of 1 year and 6 months.
