In Tashkent, the case of a construction company that defrauded nearly 300 citizens has been brought to court.

A criminal case has been investigated against officials of Glamour Gold, who defrauded nearly 300 citizens intending to purchase new homes in Tashkent city. The press service of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department reported this.

According to reports, a total of 274 citizens fell victim to fraud within the framework of the "Ecodream" residential complex construction project carried out by Glamour Gold LLC. The funds they paid for purchasing homes have not been refunded.

According to investigation documents, as of March 16, 2020, 37 billion 400 million soums had been spent on this construction. The remaining funds were not used for their intended purpose but were embezzled. As a result, the total material damage caused to citizens amounted to 97 billion soums. It turned out that this construction project, which began six years ago, was actually a fraudulent scheme.

To compensate for the damages, real estate, vehicles, and other property belonging to the suspects, with a total value of 65 billion 582 million soums, have been inventoried and placed under seizure.

According to one of the victims, the delay in the construction process was explained by various excuses.

Currently, nine responsible persons of the company have been charged under Part 3 of Article 167 (embezzlement or misappropriation), clauses "a" and "v" of Part 4 of Article 168 (fraud), Parts 2 and 3 of Article 228 (forgery of documents), and clauses "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 192-11 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied to these individuals.

Law enforcement agencies are requesting that other citizens who have suffered from this company contact the Investigation Department under the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department.
