Khusanov was not named City's best player in April.

Manchester City club has announced the best player based on the results of April. According to the fan voting results, this award went to the team's defender, Nico O'Reilly, as reported.

 

The 21-year-old footballer, a product of the club's academy, left behind Uzbekistan's Abdukodir Khusanov and Portugal's Bernardo Silva in the race for this nomination. This marks the second time O'Reilly has been named the Player of the Month in the last three months. He had previously received this recognition in February.

 

According to the club's announcement, the high technical skill, energy, and tactical flexibility demonstrated by the player in April made a significant contribution to the success of the team under head coach Pep Guardiola. During this period, the team won all five matches in the English Premier League and the domestic cup.

 

Additionally, O'Reilly also made his mark in scoring. He was the author of the opening goal in the away match against Chelsea (3:0).

 

For reference, Abdukodir Khusanov had previously been named Manchester City's Player of the Month in February 2025, as well as in January and March 2026.
