A criminal group that sent women to Namangan for prostitution has been apprehended.

A criminal group involved in taking women abroad from Namangan region and forcing them into prostitution has been exposed. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.

According to the report, during an operational event conducted on April 26 in Pop district, it was discovered that certain women living in Davlatobod district introduced themselves under various names — Nargiza, Maftuna, and Malika — and gained the trust of citizens. They conspired with another woman living in the "Yuksalish" neighborhood of Davlatobod district and engaged in criminal activities.

According to investigation data, the group targeted mainly young, divorced, and socially vulnerable women through intermediaries. They deceived women with promises of jobs and high income through their partners abroad, engaging in taking them overseas and involving them in prostitution.

On the day of the operational event, group members were apprehended while attempting to send a woman born in 2001, a resident of Davlatobod district, to India for prostitution.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Preliminary investigation actions are currently underway.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged citizens, especially not to trust suspicious offers related to working abroad. Additionally, individuals with information about illegal situations were asked to immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
