In Surxondaryo, water basins are being cleaned of oil.
An investigation is being conducted to provide a legal assessment of the activities of Surkhan Gas Chemical Operating Company regarding the oil spill.

Water bodies contaminated with oil are being cleaned in the Surkhandarya region. The press service of the regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change reported this.
It was reported that on April 23, an oil-mixed liquid flowed into a river in the Boysun district. The incident was found to have occurred at a well belonging to the joint venture Surxan Gas Chemical Operating Company LLC. On May 2, due to the destruction of a ditch caused by a heavy mudflow, an oil-mixed liquid leaked out again.
According to studies, the mixture containing oil flowed from the "Xongaronsoy" area in the Boysun district along the stream to the Bandixon and Kumkurgan districts, into the "Surkhan" river, and also reached the Angor district via the "Zang" canal in the Jarkurgan district.
According to officials, the situation has been brought under control by the regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change and other relevant organizations. Special barriers have been installed in the "Zang" canal in the Jarkurgan district and adjacent areas to retain oil products, and work is underway to mechanically collect the oil layer from the water surface. Special equipment has been deployed to separate and neutralize the contaminated water.
It was also reported that the mudflow paths in the area where the oil mixture was leaking in the Boysun district have been closed, and the flow has been localized.
Regarding this situation, investigative work is being carried out to determine the amount of damage caused to the environment, study the causes and factors, and provide a legal assessment of the activities of the responsible entity, including Surxan Gas Chemical Operating Company.
