New-type schools will be built in Tashkent: student capacity will be doubled.
Some schools in Sergeli are operating at double their capacity. To solve this problem, new schools will have their gyms and canteens placed in the basement.

At a meeting with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that some schools in the Sergeli district of Tashkent city are serving 1.5–2 times more students than their capacity. To address this issue, a project to build a new type of school that allows doubling student capacity was proposed.
According to the project, the schools' sports halls, kitchens, and workshops will be located in the basement, while the upper floors will be fully used as classrooms. This year, this approach will be piloted in one school and one kindergarten in each district of Tashkent city, creating a "capital experience."
It was also announced that work will begin on creating 12 artificial lakes in the capital to establish a comfortable microclimate for residents and tourists. Three of these will be established in the Qo‘shqo‘rg‘on, Sultonobod, and Farog‘atli mahallas in the Sergeli district, covering a total area of 22 hectares.
These lakes are intended to moderate the capital's climate and create walking and recreation areas for citizens.
Additionally, work has begun on concreting a 5-kilometer section of the "Jo‘n" canal passing through the Sergeli and Yangihayot districts. District governors have been tasked with establishing promenades and health trails along the canal by the end of the year.
Furthermore, work to strengthen the riverbed will begin on a 16-kilometer section of the Chirchiq River passing through the territory of Tashkent city. Within the project framework, it is planned to create a "green belt," promenades, pedestrian and bicycle paths on an additional 300 hectares of land.
