Are drivers required to present original copies of their documents to traffic police officers?
"Uzkomnazorat" traffic police officers have announced a video stating that documents can be presented in electronic form. However, the State Traffic Safety Service (YHXX) has denied this information.

A video was published on social media by the press service of "Uzkomnazorat" stating that when a traffic police officer stops a vehicle, the driver can present their documents in electronic form. Following this, the Road Safety Service (YHXX) stated that this information does not correspond to reality and refuted it.
However, news spread that the refutation of the report, which YHXX deemed "fake," was prepared based on an outdated version. It is noted that in its commentary, the service relied on the previous version of Resolution No. 897 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 27, 2024.
However, this resolution was amended by Resolution No. 271 dated May 21, 2026. The updated version includes the addition "by employees of internal affairs bodies" and also provides for the possibility of presenting documents generated through digital services to employees of internal affairs bodies in electronic form.
Therefore, questions are arising as to why YHXX's refutation was based on the legal norm from the previous version, rather than the current one.
