The land and property tax for greenhouses in Tashkent and its surrounding areas may be increased by 10 times.

It is proposed to introduce increased rates of land and property tax for greenhouses located in certain districts of Tashkent city and Tashkent region. The relevant draft law was submitted for public discussion until July 31.

According to the draft, for agricultural lands occupied by greenhouses in Tashkent city and the districts of Yuqori Chirchiq, Qibray, Yangiyo‘l, Zangiota, and Tashkent region, the land tax will be set at 10 times the current rate. Additionally, existing tax benefits will not apply to such greenhouses.

In this case, the increased property and land tax will not be applied to greenhouses where heating boilers have been dismantled or which are heated using electricity. Information on this matter will be provided by the authorized body in the field of ecology and environmental protection.

According to the draft law, the purpose of these changes is to reduce the negative impact of greenhouse farms on the ecological situation in Tashkent city and region, as well as to encourage the use of environmentally safe and energy-efficient heating technologies in greenhouses.

In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 9, 2026, the establishment and state registration of new greenhouse farms using coal, fuel oil, and other harmful fuels in Tashkent city and the districts of Yuqori Chirchiq, Qibray, Yangiyo‘l, Zangiota, and Tashkent region has been prohibited since June 1, 2026.

Furthermore, it is planned to gradually relocate greenhouse farms in Tashkent city and region that are negatively impacting the environment and public health to the "Surxon-Agro" free economic zone in Surxondaryo region.
