Reports have spread on social media that part of the excavation pit of a construction site located at 3 Orzu Massiv, Almazar district, Tashkent city, has collapsed. The reports claim that a perennial tree fell and broke power lines, resulting in power outages in the "Orzu" neighborhood and adjacent areas, and that one person was injured. The Tashkent city administration has issued an official response regarding the incident.

 

According to the administration, no casualties or citizens seeking medical assistance as a result of the incident have been recorded so far.

 

It was noted that the situation has been placed under the personal control of the Mayor of Tashkent city. By his order, an operational special commission has been formed, consisting of representatives from the Tashkent city Emergency Situations Department, the Inspection for Control over Construction and Housing and Communal Services, prosecutor's offices, the Almazar district administration, and other relevant agencies.

 

Currently, necessary measures are being taken at the scene to ensure the safety of citizens, fence off the hazardous area, and restrict access to it. Specialists are examining the causes of the ground collapse, as well as the condition of the surrounding area, road surface, and engineering utilities.

 

The administration stated that, based on the results of the investigation, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of responsible individuals, and those who violated urban planning legislation and construction standards will be held accountable in accordance with established procedures.
