In the Quva district of Fergana region, a man set fire to his father-in-law's home due to a family dispute. As a result of the incident, more than 109.8 million soums in damages were caused.
According to the "Zamon" information program, the man's wife took their child and went to her parents' home. The man, who had returned from Russia, went to his father-in-law's house to see his child. However, there he became angry upon hearing that his mother-in-law's daughter had been married off to another man.
A few hours later, the man returned to his father-in-law's home with gasoline in hand. He poured the fuel in one of the rooms, set it on fire, and left the scene. The fire caused material damage amounting to 109 million 884 thousand soums.
During the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. He stated that he committed the act in a fit of anger and expressed remorse. The victim reported that the damages had been fully compensated and that he had no claims against the defendant.
The court found the man guilty of committing the crime stipulated under Article 173, Part 2, Clause "b" of the Criminal Code.
Considering that the damages were fully compensated and the victim had no claims, the defendant was sentenced to 3 years of correctional labor.
