Learning the Uzbek language is reaching an international level.

In October of last year, the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva's visit to Oxford University and the opening of the Uzbek Studies program there was a significant event in promoting the Uzbek language and culture in the international academic and educational arena.

Today, this initiative has been elevated to a new stage — the Summer School for Oxford students has commenced its work in Uzbekistan.

Over the course of a month, they will not only learn the Uzbek language but also see Uzbekistan firsthand and become acquainted with its history, culture, and traditions.

The Summer School program includes:

  • A trip to Tashkent;
  • A visit to Samarkand and Bukhara;
  • Uzbek language lessons;
  • Cultural events;
  • An introduction to historical monuments and national heritage.

This holds a broader meaning than just language learning. It is an important step for dialogue between peoples, the rapprochement of cultures, and cooperation among the new generation.
