In Bukhara, a tutor who sexually harassed a female student was imprisoned.

A university tutor in Bukhara, who called a female student at night, offered to pass her through midterm exams, and made sexual advances, has been sentenced to 3 days of administrative detention.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on August 14, 2026, at approximately 22:00 at one of the universities in Bukhara city. A.A., who worked as a tutor at the university, called a female student from the group he supervised.

During the conversation, the tutor said he would pass the student through the midterm exams and made sexual advances toward her. The girl, frightened by his words, stated that she would report him to law enforcement agencies. Despite this, A.A. continued calling and made inappropriate remarks that demeaned the student's honor and dignity.

In court, A.A. admitted his guilt. He stated that he made such an offer to the student because he was drunk that day. He also said that he had apologized to the girl and assured that such an incident would not happen again.

The female student, however, stated that there had been no prior disagreements between them and that she had no claims against the tutor.

The Bukhara City Court for Criminal Cases found A.A. guilty of committing the offense of sexual harassment as provided for in Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

He was sentenced to 3 days of administrative detention.
