On October 7, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, who is in the country to participate in the regular meetings of the Uzbekistan – Russia Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Regions.
At the beginning of the conversation, the high-ranking guest conveyed to the head of state the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Issues of implementing the agreements reached following the high-level meetings were considered.
The leader of Uzbekistan welcomed the productive results of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and the third meeting of the Council of Regions held the day before.
It was noted with satisfaction that mutual trade volume is steadily growing, and cooperation projects in industry, energy, metallurgy, peaceful nuclear energy, and other sectors are being advanced.
The importance of taking mutually coordinated measures aimed at further expanding trade turnover, accelerating joint projects within industrial zones, and continuing active dialogue at the regional and business levels was emphasized.
