The attacks were directed at Kyiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this was one of the largest attacks Russia has carried out since it started the war in 2022.
According to Zelenskyy, one of the main targets of the attacks was Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Residential buildings, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure were also damaged as a result of the strikes.
In the city of Pryluky in Chernihiv region, a missile struck a five-story residential building. According to emergency services, 14 people, including four children, were killed here, and 50 people were injured.

Russia's Ministry of Defense called the attack a "massive strike." According to the ministry, military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and other areas were targeted using high-precision missiles and drones.
The Russian side stated that facilities for the production and storage of "Flamingo" cruise missiles and medium- and long-range drones of the Fire Point company in Kyiv were also among the targets struck. Additionally, facilities in Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions, as well as port and ship repair infrastructure in Odesa region, were targeted.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, called the attack a "terrorist act."
Kyiv has been subjected to regular Russian air attacks in recent weeks. Energy, railway, and road infrastructure, including bridges over the Dnipro River, are also being targeted in the strikes.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian forces also struck four facilities in Russia over the past 24 hours. These include two oil facilities in Perm, Samara, and Astrakhan regions, as well as a military training ground.
