In 2027, Days of Mutual Culture dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be held in Russia and Uzbekistan. An agreement to this effect was reached at a meeting between the heads of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan and the "Russia" National Center.
The working meeting and press briefing were held in Tashkent, at the Islamic Civilization Center established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The main topic was cooperation in broadly promoting the cultural and scientific heritage of the two countries.
"Thanks to the initiatives and directives of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale work is being carried out today to preserve our invaluable heritage and present it to the world. We are revealing to the international community the richness of our culture and the contribution of our great ancestors to the development of world civilization. The events recently held in the UNESCO space are clear confirmation of this.
Today we have taken another important step — together with our main partner in Russia, the "Russia" National Center, we have identified new directions for our joint activities. Our task is to enrich this partnership with concrete projects. Through them, the peoples of the two countries, which have deep historical roots, can gain a deeper understanding of each other's culture and strengthen mutual ties for future generations.
We express our gratitude to the "Russia" National Center for the proposal to hold Days of Uzbekistan in Russia. In turn, we propose organizing Days of Mutual Culture also at the site of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. We would also be pleased, within the framework of these days, to invite our Russian colleagues to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan. This will give them the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the invaluable heritage of Islamic civilization," said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan.
The Russian side proposed holding the Days of Uzbekistan in March 2027 in Moscow. To this end, the "Russia" National Center expressed its readiness to provide its venues.
"The friendship between Russia and Uzbekistan is based on hundreds of years of shared history, culture and achievements. As our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has always emphasized, behind every achievement the most important factor is people. Relations between our countries are, above all, ties between people united by shared traditional values.
Within the framework of the Days of Mutual Culture, what matters most to us is that, along with remembering and preserving the past, we also discuss the future of our countries and peoples and concrete projects that can be implemented. It is important that our cooperation above all yields concrete results.
In this regard, we invite you to hold the Days of Uzbekistan in March 2027 at the "Russia" National Center in Moscow. We are ready to provide all our venues and capabilities to ensure a sincere and at the same time effective dialogue between the two cultures — Russia and Uzbekistan," said Natalya Virtuozova, Director General of the "Russia" National Center.
At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum on the further development of cooperation for 2027–2030. It was proposed to hold the Days of Mutual Culture under the motto "From a shared history — toward a shared future."
An agreement was also reached to involve leading experts, scholars and specialists from the two countries in developing a three-year "Road Map" for Russia–Uzbekistan cooperation for 2027–2030.
The development of concrete proposals for scientific, cultural, museum and media projects is planned within the framework of joint events and expert meetings to be held in Uzbekistan in November–December of this year. These initiatives will form the basis of a long-term cooperation program and will define the priority directions for its practical implementation.
