In Tashkent, citizens drive cars over dogs.

A video has circulated on social media showing two citizens driving over dogs with their cars. Regarding this incident, the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs provided information.

 

It is reported that on April 5, around 23:00, at one of the markets in the Uchtepa district, a security guard born in 1997, T.M., and M.D., born in 1996, drove their cars over dogs.

    

Regarding this incident, the Uchtepa District Department of Internal Affairs has formalized an administrative protocol under the signs of Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan ("Cruelty to Animals"). 

 

The collected documents have been sent to the district court for criminal proceedings for legal action.

 

Earlier, we reported that the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan is preparing a draft law envisaging a sharp increase in liability for cruelty to animals.

 

The proposed new draft law envisages further strengthening of penalties. Specifically, it is proposed to increase fines for cruelty to animals up to 200 BHM (over 80 million soums) and introduce a penalty of deprivation of liberty for up to one year.
