Videos showing citizens of Uzbekistan being involved in inspection activities conducted by law enforcement agencies in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region have spread on social media.

 

According to reports, during a raid conducted in the region, police noticed a rug with the Russian flag lying on the floor. In connection with this incident, the issue of initiating a criminal case against the woman under the article "Desecration of the Russian state flag" was being considered. The Migration Agency issued an official statement regarding the situation.

 

The Agency reported that this situation was immediately brought under control. The representative office in Russia and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, in cooperation with the relevant Russian state bodies, are working to clarify the details of the incident and ensure the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens.

 

It was also reported that contact has been established with M.S., the Uzbek citizen shown in the video. Consular and legal assistance is being provided to him/her.

 

It was stated that an air ticket for the citizen's return to Uzbekistan has been arranged using funds from the Migration Fund. His/her return to Uzbekistan is planned for August 6.
