Train intervals on the Tashkent Metro will be reduced.
This measure will be implemented to effectively manage the passenger flow expected with the start of the new academic year.
Preparations are underway for an increase in passenger flow at the Tashkent Metro in connection with the start of the new academic year. The Tashkent Metro JSC reported this.
The first shift of academic classes at higher education institutions in the capital has been set to begin at 08:00.
In this regard, during the morning and evening rush hours, the intervals of train movement on all metro lines will be reduced. In particular:
- On the Chilanzar line — up to 1.5–2 minutes;
- On the Uzbekistan line — up to 3 minutes;
- On the Yunusabad line — up to 4 minutes;
- On the surface circular line — up to 7–8 minutes.
It was reported that during 2026, the rolling stock of the Tashkent Metro is planned to be replenished with 14 modern train sets. So far, 11 of them have been delivered, and another 3 train sets are expected to be brought in the coming days.
Also, to effectively manage passenger flow and ensure safety at stations, a duty system has been established at all 50 metro stations during rush hours.
Groups of responsible staff will be on duty at stations during the morning and evening rush hours, providing necessary assistance to passengers.
These measures are aimed at effectively managing the expected passenger flow with the start of the new academic year, ensuring the stability of metro service, and providing convenient and safe service to passengers.
