Tashkent TPP may stop burning fuel oil: voltage supplied to new "Halqa" substation
As a result of the commissioning of the new substation, electrical loads in Tashkent city and part of Tashkent region will be redistributed.

In order to improve electricity supply in Tashkent city and part of Tashkent region and to stabilize the environmental situation, voltage has been supplied to the new 500 kV "Halqa" substation. The Ministry of Energy announced this.
According to the report, this substation has a capacity of 1602 MVA. Its commissioning will further strengthen electricity supply in Tashkent city and part of Tashkent region, as well as enable optimal distribution of the load on existing electrical networks.
As a result of the commissioning of the new substation, electrical loads in Tashkent city and part of Tashkent region will be redistributed. As a result, the load on the Tashkent thermal power plant will decrease, and there will be no need to use mazut fuel at the plant.
The ministry notes that the significance of the "Halqa" substation is not limited to increasing the reliability of electricity supply. It also plays an important role in implementing measures aimed at improving the environmental situation in the capital and adjacent areas and reducing pollutants emitted into the atmosphere.
This investment project, with a total value of 171.4 million US dollars, was implemented with the participation of the World Bank. Within the framework of the project, along with the "Halqa" substation with a capacity of 1602 MVA, 213 kilometers of 220 kV and 72 kilometers of 500 kV, a total of 285 kilometers of high-voltage power transmission networks were built.
This infrastructure will serve as a solid foundation for expanding the transmission capabilities of the country's unified energy system, efficiently distributing electricity flows, and reliably meeting growing consumption demand.
At present, final work is ongoing on the full integration of the new facilities into the unified energy system.
