Israel wants Muslim countries to fight each other — Head of Turkish Intelligence
Hakan Fidan called on Middle Eastern countries to avoid sharp responses to each other.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the war launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran in violation of international law is increasingly facing the danger of regional expansion. Fidan provided this information in an interview with A Haber TV channel.
It is noted that Fidan emphasized that the U.S. and Israel's attacks against Iran are having a very serious impact on regional and global politics: "Unfortunately, this war, launched by America and Israel in violation of international law, is increasingly facing the danger of regional expansion," he warned.
Fidan said that from the very beginning, Turkey's goal has been to prevent the war from starting, to stop it if it does, to not allow it to spread, and to not interfere in the process. He added that the country is acting within this framework.
"Our main goal is to stop the war. In achieving this, it is important for us that the war does not spread to other countries and that permanent hostility and instability do not arise in the region. We hope that the war will end at some point, one way or another," said the minister.
Hakan Fidan also emphasized that animosity between countries can last for years after wars.
Furthermore, the minister noted that the region is being gradually drawn into a game structured according to an Israeli scenario.
"At this point, while a war is being waged against Iran, we unfortunately see that seeds of discord are being sown in the region by Israel, which makes the reunification of Muslims in the region almost impossible. In other words, Turkey's main goal is to prevent this discord from arising."
He noted that the attacks by Israel and the U.S. have created risks for some states in the region, that Iranian missile and drone attacks have been carried out against 7-8 countries, and as advice, he suggested being patient and not overreacting.
"The reciprocal responses of states in the region will lead to long-term consequences. This is exactly the scenario Israel wants. That is, Muslim states need to enter into a long-term conflict with each other in the region. Please do not do this; this is our advice to Iran as well as to other countries."
Fidan emphasized that the main topic at the meeting in Riyadh was the countries Iran attacked and that Turkey's position is to not allow any provocation.
