A court verdict has been issued against a driver who grossly violated traffic rules in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region. The press service of the Interior Affairs Department reported this.
On April 12, a video spread on social networks showing a driver of a Cobalt-brand car almost hitting a mother and child crossing at a regulated pedestrian crossing, without obeying the traffic light's prohibiting signal and without reducing speed.
It was reported that during the conducted search and investigation, it was determined that this violation was committed by a 33-year-old driver engaged in taxi activity. According to the driver's statement, at the time of the incident, he was taking his 5-year-old child who had a fever and failed to notice the pedestrians.
This incident was assessed as a threat to the lives of pedestrians, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver based on Article 128-10 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (road hooliganism).
According to the court decision held on April 14, the driver was found guilty and sentenced to deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years and a fine of 25 times the base calculation amount — 10 million 300 thousand soums.
