The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan called for the improvement of cemeteries.
The office announced the initiative "Month of Urgent Cemetery Improvement."

The Council of Scholars of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has published an appeal regarding the improvement of cemeteries and the etiquette of visiting them.
The appeal notes that honoring ancestors, respecting their memory, and maintaining cemeteries is considered a noble tradition in the country. It also emphasizes that our holy religion encourages visiting the deceased, praying for their souls, and treating graves with respect.
The Board's statement mentions that in recent years, extensive landscaping work has been carried out across the country, including around the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand.
It also highlights that cemeteries are places that inspire reflection, reminding people of the transience of life and the reality of the afterlife.
The Board has also drawn attention to cases in some areas where cemeteries are neglected, and cleanliness and order are insufficient. Such situations are regarded as indifference towards the memory of the deceased.
The appeal emphasizes the need to keep cemeteries constantly clean and well-maintained, to observe the culture of visiting, and to adhere to established procedures.
It also reminds visitors of etiquette such as maintaining purity, offering greetings, making prayers and reciting the Quran, and avoiding disrespectful behavior towards graves.
Furthermore, the Board has announced an initiative called "Urgent Month for Improving Cemeteries" aimed at enhancing cemetery maintenance and elevating the culture of visiting.
According to this, local community members, elders, imam-khatibs, and intellectuals will be widely involved in cleaning and landscaping cemeteries.
Within the framework of the initiative, plans include keeping cemeteries orderly, greening them, creating comfortable conditions for visitors, and strengthening the concept of "Memory and Appreciation" among young people.
