WTA and Uzbekistan: New opportunities in the tourism sector discussed
It was agreed to involve more than 260 tourism organizations and companies within the WTA in projects in Uzbekistan and to hold events promoting the Silk Road.

Within the framework of the international tourism exhibition "ITB China," the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, A. Aqqulov, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the "World Tourism Alliance" (WTA), Zheng Hao.

The WTA is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization in the tourism sector, which operates to broadly establish cooperation between states, the private sector, and participants in the tourism industry.
During today's negotiations, discussions were held on promoting Uzbekistan's tourism potential widely on the international stage in cooperation with the WTA, including the implementation of new projects aimed at further strengthening the position of historical cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva on global tourist routes.
At the same time, opportunities to attract foreign investments and new tourism projects to Uzbekistan through the WTA platform are being considered. The development of areas such as ecotourism, pilgrimage tourism, and gastronomic tourism based on international cooperation is being promoted.
Following the meeting, it was agreed to broadly involve over 260 national tourism organizations, airlines, hotel chains, and major tourism companies that are part of the WTA in projects being implemented in Uzbekistan, and to jointly carry out events dedicated to promoting the Silk Road.
It was noted that strengthening Uzbekistan's ties with global tourism organizations will further enhance the country's international image. This will contribute not only to increasing the flow of tourists but also to creating new jobs and developing the regional economy.
