In 5 months, over 5.3 million foreign tourists came to Uzbekistan.

As a result of reforms aimed at developing the tourism sector in Uzbekistan and increasing its share in the economy, the flow of foreign tourists has significantly increased, reports the Tourism Committee.

According to data, in the first five months of 2026, over 5 million 352 thousand foreign tourists visited the country. This figure is 1 million 148 thousand, or 27.3 percent, higher than the same period last year.

In May of this year, more than 1.3 million tourists came to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes.

It is noted that this growth is associated with the simplification of visa procedures, an increase in the number of countries with a visa-free regime, and the expansion of the electronic visa system's capabilities.

Furthermore, the country's cultural and historical heritage, as well as pilgrimage, ecological, gastronomic, medical, and mountain tourism directions, are being actively promoted on the international stage.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported tourism services worth 2 billion 244 million US dollars. This indicator shows the growing role of the tourism sector in attracting foreign currency revenues to the economy, developing the service sector, and ensuring employment.

According to the report, the growth in tourist flow confirms that Uzbekistan is becoming one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in Central Asia.
