An audio recording allegedly belonging to Abdulla Mamatkulov, the governor of Muzrabot district in Surkhandarya region, has been circulated. Kun.uz reported on this.

 

According to reports, the official is heard using offensive language towards farmers who have not fulfilled the grain delivery plan, demanding that the plan be completed within a short period.

 

According to Kun.uz, the audio recording was made on June 15 during a meeting held in the district governor's office. The meeting was dedicated to contractual obligations for grain cultivation and issues related to crop delivery.

 

In the recording, the person identified as the governor demands that farmers immediately fulfill the grain delivery plan. Demands such as "Close it today" and "You have one hour" are repeated several times throughout the audio.

 

It is also reported that warnings involving the court and prosecutor's office were issued against the farmers.

 

According to the source, representatives of law enforcement agencies were also present at the meeting and witnessed the insults and threats made by the governor towards the farmers.

 

Regarding this incident, the administration of Surkhandarya region issued a statement, announcing that a relevant investigation has been initiated.

 

It was noted that the situation related to the published audio recording has been assessed by the regional governor, Ulugbek Kosimov, as a matter requiring serious attention.

 

According to the regional administration, relations between state officials and farmers should be established based on the principles of rule of law, mutual respect, human dignity, and professional ethics.

 

A working group consisting of representatives from authorized agencies has been formed to objectively and comprehensively study all details of the incident and provide a legal assessment. It was emphasized that this matter has been placed under the personal supervision of the regional governor.

 

It was stated that a relevant decision will be made in accordance with the procedure established by law, based on the results of the investigation and the conclusions of the authorized bodies.

 

The regional administration noted that the final conclusion on the situation will be provided only based on the investigation results and the requirements of current legislation, and called on the public to await the official investigation results and refrain from drawing conclusions based on unconfirmed information.
