The President of Uzbekistan was awarded Georgia's highest state award — the "Golden Fleece" Order.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev wrote his sincere wishes in the Book of Honored Guests of the Orbeliani Palace.

As part of the events in Tbilisi, a ceremony was held to award the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Georgia's highest state award – the "Golden Fleece" Order, which took place.

This award was presented to the head of our state by the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, for his immense contribution to the development of multifaceted Uzbekistan-Georgia relations.

The leader of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Chairman of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili for the high award, and wished the friendly people of Georgia peace, prosperity, and progress.
The "Golden Fleece" Order, established in 1998, is one of the country's highest state awards, conferred for outstanding services in strengthening relations with foreign states and international organizations, as well as for promoting Georgian culture, science, and art.

The name of the order is associated with the ancient Greek myth of the Golden Fleece and the historical region of Colchis, located in present-day Georgia.

In various years, this high award has been conferred upon Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, King Abdullah II of Jordan, German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and others.
