President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in our country on a working visit on July 17, at a meeting.

Current issues of further developing Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and alliance relations, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, were considered.
Last year, the volume of trade turnover increased by 15 percent, and in the current period of this year, growth amounted to nearly 40 percent.
Cooperation projects are being implemented in construction, energy, geology, logistics, finance, fuel, textiles, tourism, and other sectors, including with the participation of the joint Investment Company. The importance of thoroughly preparing the economic agenda for upcoming high-level meetings was emphasized.
In this regard, the outcomes of today's meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council were highly appreciated.
It was also noted that it is necessary to ensure the productive conduct of the forum of the regions of the two countries.
