In Tashkent, August 1 — Azerbaijan Alphabet and Azerbaijan Language Day was celebrated.

An event was held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan on the occasion of August 1 — the Day of the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language.

 

 

During the event, detailed information was provided about the historical development path of the Azerbaijani alphabet and the invaluable role of the native language in preserving the national identity and spiritual heritage of the people. It was emphasized that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, always pays special attention to protecting the Azerbaijani language, ensuring its purity, and expanding its usage opportunities. In this regard, the head of state's words were particularly noted: "Today, the Azerbaijani language is the native language for more than 50 million people. The defender of the pure, clear, and literary Azerbaijani language is we — our independent Azerbaijani state." It was stated that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, consistent and targeted measures are being implemented to develop the Azerbaijani language, expand its scope of use, and promote it internationally.

 

Students of the Azerbaijani language courses operating at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center shared their thoughts and opinions about the richness of the language, its role in preserving national values, and the importance of loyalty to the native language. Within the program, a video dedicated to August 1 — the Day of the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language — was presented to the participants.

 

At the end of the event, an introductory tour was organized for young people newly involved in the Center's activities. The participants familiarized themselves with the museums and library operating at the Center and received detailed information about the exhibitions, exhibits, and the library's collection.
