The New Tashkent project was presented to the President of Azerbaijan.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Directorate for the Construction of New Tashkent city.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani leader was presented with the master plan of New Tashkent, the progress of construction works, the city's transport and engineering infrastructure, as well as future development plans.

New Tashkent city is being built on an area of 20,000 hectares. In the future, it is planned to create conditions for 2 million residents to live here. By 2034, the construction of 200,000 apartments in the city is envisaged.

In the first phase of the project, covering 6,000 hectares, modern residential areas, social and business facilities, as well as educational and cultural centers are being built.

In particular, campuses of the "New Uzbekistan" University, the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University, and other higher education institutions are under construction.

In building New Tashkent, priority is given to modern urban planning, "green city," and energy efficiency principles. It is planned to place engineering communications underground, use energy-saving technologies, and create extensive green areas and public spaces.

The city's transport infrastructure will also be shaped according to modern requirements. New bridges and a metro line, pedestrian and bicycle paths will seamlessly connect New Tashkent with the existing areas of the capital.

Additionally, government agencies, scientific and cultural centers, hotels, service, and business complexes will be built in the city. Local and foreign investors are being widely involved in implementing the project.

During the visit, President Ilham Aliyev was also shown a model of New Tashkent and provided with detailed information about the major facilities planned to be built in the city.
