Mirzo Botirov, an employee of the Department for Control of the Syrdarya Water Basin of the State Environmental Control Inspectorate of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, died while performing his official duties.

 

It is reported that around 23:00 on September 9, during a rapid raid conducted in the Syrdarya River bed, he encountered resistance from violators illegally fishing with an electric fishing device. As a result, the inspector fell into the water.

 

As a result of search operations carried out in cooperation with relevant organizations, the body of Mirzo Botirov was found on September 10.

 

According to the Committee, measures are currently being taken to provide necessary material and moral support to the deceased's family members, as well as to investigate all details of the incident.

 

Mirzo Botirov's services and courage in protecting the environment and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation requirements will be duly recognized, and the deceased will be awarded the "Nature Defender" badge.
