To support young families in Uzbekistan, the portion of the mortgage loan interest rate exceeding 14 percent under the housing mortgage program will be covered by the state budget. This was announced during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's meeting with youth on February 24.
The head of state emphasized that nearly 270,000 new families are formed annually in the republic, and they need comfortable and decent housing. Therefore, preferential mortgage loans are allocated to young families.
Furthermore, to develop a reading culture among youth, creative commissions are given to the most talented writers through the "Development of Reading Culture" fund, with a monthly payment of 20 million soums for one year.
Half of the costs for translating and publishing the best foreign literature into Uzbek and national literature into foreign languages will be covered.
Officials have been tasked with preparing a collection of the 100 best works and delivering them to all schools and technical colleges before the new academic year. The most active readers in schools will be awarded a prize of 10 million soums.
Entrepreneurs who increase book sales by more than 10,000 copies per month will be granted a loan of up to 1 billion soums at 7 percent interest for three years.
