An education sector official in Jizzakh region was caught red-handed while taking a bribe.

 

During an operational measure conducted in the direction of combating corruption in collaboration between the State Security Service and prosecutor's office personnel, the illegal actions of one of the officials of the regional education system were exposed. The SSS reported this to Zamon.uz.

 

It was revealed that the head of the preschool and school education department, abusing his official authority, demanded a bribe of 4 million 800 thousand soums from the head of a state preschool education institution in exchange for not conducting an inspection.

 

This official was caught red-handed with material evidence during the operational measure while receiving the requested sum of money.

 

Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 210, Part 2, Clause "v" of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently being carried out.

 

Furthermore, during the investigation, other illegal actions by this individual, provided for in Articles 167, 209, and 243 of the Criminal Code, were also identified.
