Pavel Durov: Telegram continues to bypass blockades.

During the Russia-Ukraine war, despite the blocking of Telegram in the Federation, 65 million people were using this messenger via VPN.

The government's attempt to ban VPN services led to a banking crisis — yesterday, only cash payments were possible across the entire country.

Durov compared the situation to Iran: "The government expected surveillance apps to spread, but VPNs became widespread." Now, in addition to the 50 million community from Iran, over 50 million more users from Russia have joined the ranks of "Digital Resistance."

"Welcome to Digital Resistance, our Russian brothers. The entire country has united to bypass meaningless restrictions. We will continue to adapt by making it even more difficult to detect and block Telegram traffic," writes Durov on his Telegram channel.

Following the blocking of Telegram in Russia, people in the country began mass purchasing Uzbek SIM cards.

Now, due to the lack of benefit from VPNs, the demand for Uzbek SIM cards and eSIM cards in Russia has sharply increased. This way, migrants are gaining constant access to social networks.

The main advantage of Uzbek SIM cards is that Telegram and other social networks work reliably and quickly even without a VPN.
