Food product price increases have impacted inflation.

In Uzbekistan, consumer prices increased by an average of 0.6 percent in March 2026. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
According to the data, the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 107.1 percent. This indicator is 3.2 percentage points lower compared to the same period last year (in March 2025 — 110.3 percent).
The report notes that in March, food product prices increased by an average of 1.2 percent. Additionally, non-food goods became more expensive by 0.3 percent, and paid services provided to the population increased by 0.2 percent.
Among food products, price increases for tomatoes (11.5 percent), bell peppers (10.0 percent), potatoes (9.8 percent), pumpkin (9.4 percent), apples (7.4 percent), bananas (6.0 percent), and lemons (4.4 percent) had the main impact on inflation.
Furthermore, prices also rose for chicken eggs (2.1 percent), beef (1.8 percent), fish (1.7 percent), sugar (1.7 percent), mutton (1.2 percent), sunflower oil (1.0 percent), ready-made meals in public catering establishments (0.8 percent), and first-grade wheat flour (0.6 percent).
At the same time, a decrease in the price of cucumbers by 20.7 percent, cabbage by 4.7 percent, and onions by 4.6 percent was noted as a factor reducing the inflation level.
In the non-food goods segment, prices increased for vasodilator drugs (0.9 percent), women's dresses (0.8 percent), and cement (0.8 percent). At the same time, propane became cheaper by 3.2 percent and AI-92 gasoline by 0.9 percent.
In the services sector, prices for household waste disposal fees and dyeing services increased by 0.9 percent, while tariffs for domestic and international passenger air transport decreased by 4.1 percent.
It is noted that the calculations were carried out based on nearly 1.2 million prices recorded at over 10,000 trade and service points. The analysis covered 419 types of goods and 98 types of services.
