A foreigner was caught trying to bring drugs into Tashkent airport.
He was trying to smuggle more than 6 kilograms of drugs hidden among his luggage.

A passenger attempting to secretly transport narcotics through Tashkent International Airport has been detained. The Customs Committee reported on this.

It is noted that when the hand luggage and baggage belonging to one of the foreign passengers arriving from Bangkok underwent customs control, it was discovered that among the luggage, 12 polyethylene packages were hidden inside various parcels.
When these packages were opened for inspection according to established procedure and with the participation of witnesses, the green-colored, pungent-smelling substance inside was determined, based on the conclusion of the Central Customs Laboratory, to be over 6.3 kg of dried marijuana.
A criminal case has been initiated by the customs authorities regarding the incident.
According to information, the rapid response units and customs post staff of "Tashkent-Aero" International Border Crossing have prevented the illegal movement across the customs border and their covert circulation within the domestic territory in 15 cases identified in the first quarter of the current year, involving nearly 30 kilograms of narcotics, including synthetic drugs. The amount of narcotics being detected has increased by 18 kilograms compared to the same period last year.
