Qamchibek Tashiyev has been accused of attempting a coup d'état.

Tashiyev and two other former officials were interrogated in connection with this case.

Qamchibek Tashiyev has been accused of attempting a coup d'état.

In Kyrgyzstan, a number of former high-ranking officials have been interrogated as part of a criminal case related to an attempted coup d'état. This was reported by 24.kg, citing lawyer Sherdor Abdiqaparov, as per the news.

According to the lawyer, former Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) Kamchibek Tashiyev, former deputy Kurmankul Zulushev, and former Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiyev were summoned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and interrogated.

It was reported that procedural actions were taken against them within the framework of this case, based on charges previously applied to other suspects. The charges are related to organizing mass riots and actions that the investigation classifies as an attempted coup d'état.

According to sources in law enforcement agencies, the interrogations lasted several hours at the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after which the former officials left the building.

Official agencies have not yet disclosed detailed information regarding the content of the charges or the progress of the investigation. However, according to sources, the investigation is linked to an appeal known as the "Letter of 75."

As previously reported, in February, 75 individuals sent an appeal to Sadyr Japarov and the leadership of the Jogorku Kenesh, proposing the holding of early presidential elections.

Following these events, Kamchibek Tashiyev was dismissed from his positions as Chairman of the GKNB and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, and a reorganization was carried out within the GKNB.

Specifically, a number of high-ranking officials were removed from their posts. Nurlanbek Shakiyev stepped down from his chairmanship and surrendered his deputy mandate. Kurmankul Zulushev also relinquished his deputy powers. Subsequently, a criminal case was initiated regarding this matter.

It is noted that some of those who signed the "Letter of 75" have been placed in pre-trial detention, and they have been charged with organizing mass riots.

Earlier, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov stated that Kamchibek Tashiyev denied meeting with the authors of this appeal. At the same time, he emphasized that Tashiyev would not be appointed to any state positions in the future.

His brother, Shoirbek Tashiyev, also surrendered his deputy mandate and was interrogated in a corruption case.
