President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Victory Park in Tashkent.
The President laid a wreath at the base of the "Hymn of Resilience" and "Devotees of the Nation" monuments.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Victory Park in Tashkent on May 8 .
According to reports, the head of state participated in a memorial ceremony organized at Victory Park on the occasion of May 9 – Day of Remembrance and Appreciation.

According to tradition, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid a wreath at the foot of the "Hymn of Fortitude" monument. This majestic monument is an expression of the suffering, fortitude, and losses endured by the people during the war.
"Today, we express our special love and respect to the war and labor veterans, all our elders who are living healthily among us. It would be correct to say that this complex is a sacred place that glorifies the courage and heroism of our multi-ethnic people who made a worthy contribution to the great victory," said the head of state.
According to data, out of the population of 6 million 800 thousand at that time, nearly 2 million people participated in the bloody battles against fascism. Of these, about 540 thousand were killed, 158 thousand went missing, over 50 thousand died in concentration camps due to unprecedented torture and suffering, and more than 60 thousand returned disabled.
The fact that nearly 214 thousand Uzbek soldiers and officers were awarded combat orders and medals testifies to their courage.
During the war years, Uzbekistan became a strong supply base for the front, delivering huge amounts of military equipment, weapons, clothing, and food to the battlefields. Despite extremely difficult conditions, our people took in nearly 1 million 500 thousand people evacuated from war zones, including 250 thousand orphaned children, showing them kindness.

Representatives of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, state and public organizations, mahalla activists, and elders also participated in the event, laying flowers at the foot of this monument.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the "Devotees of the Nation" alley in Victory Park, paying tribute to the memory of military servicemen and law enforcement officers who died defending our country during the years of independence.
"It is certainly not without reason that we built the 'Devotees of the Nation' complex in this area a year ago. It reminds us that the defense of the Motherland is the sacred duty of every generation and the continuity of patriotic traditions," said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The complex bears the engraved names of 196 military servicemen and law enforcement officers who heroically died for the freedom of the Motherland and the peace of our people during the years of independence.

The head of state expressed deep gratitude to the parents for bringing such brave and courageous children into the world and raising them as true patriots.
In 2025 alone, nearly 650 thousand Uzbeks and foreign guests visited this complex.
Numerous spiritual and educational events, history, patriotism, and "Hour of the Future" lessons are held here. It was noted that such work has spiritual and educational significance and must be continued.
This year, the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great Amir Temur is being widely celebrated in Uzbekistan and abroad.
The torch of statehood, courage, and heroism of Sahibkiran continues to shine today. This great tradition is being worthily continued by brave soldiers, officers, and generals. It was emphasized that they are the great wealth of the people, the reliable and strong shields of the Motherland.
"Today, in the students of the 'Temurbek Schools' and our brave military personnel standing in formation, we see the new generation of Alpomish, Manguberdi, and Amir Temur. The rich heritage, the school of knowledge and experience of our great ancestors is returning not only to our museums but also to our hearts. It is as if they have come back to life and are building New Uzbekistan, the foundation of the Third Renaissance, together with us. Every person who visits the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the State Museum of the Timurids, and the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand deeply feels this," said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

This year, the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence will be celebrated with great solemnity. This date will be welcomed under the noble motto: "As a single Motherland, a single people, we will create a new life and future."
"Today, we see the conflicts and wars happening in the regions around us. In such a complex situation, life itself once again confirms that maintaining national unity and solidarity is the greatest strength, the greatest wealth. Defending the Motherland is the most noble and honorable task in the world. Our brave and courageous sons, who deeply understand this truth and have always remained faithful to their military oath, deserve all the praise we can give," said the head of state.
It was emphasized that the "Devotees of the Nation" alley should remain a blessed place where the voice of courage resounds day and night, calling for the struggle for peace, and serve to educate thousands, millions of guardians of the Motherland.
It was noted that comprehensive care and support for the family members and children of sons who heroically died while fulfilling their duty to the Motherland will continue consistently from now on.
