The Minister of Culture emphasized that the art of maqom is an important value that reflects the spiritual heritage and national identity of the Uzbek people.

The Minister of Culture, who gave an interview to media representatives within the framework of the International Maqom Art Conference being held in Namangan, described maqom art as the spiritual and cultural wealth of the Uzbek people. A correspondent from Zamon.uz reports on this.
According to Ozodbek Nazarbekov, maqom embodies upbringing, enlightenment, history, and human values, showcasing the unique aspects of the nation that are unlike any other in the world. He noted that maqom is a perfect art form with a strong scientific foundation that requires in-depth study.
"For us, maqom is everything. For the Uzbek people, maqom is truly everything. It is precisely upbringing, it is enlightenment, it is humanity, it is goodness, it is virtue. All knowledge is there. Everything is within maqom. Our history is there, and most importantly, the form of our nation is there. Through our maqom, we can show our unique facet that is unlike anyone else's," said the minister.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized the need to further increase interest in maqom among young people and stated the importance of preserving this heritage and fully passing it on to future generations.
