The prices of 2,500 prescription drugs have been reduced in Uzbekistan.
The limited prices of prescription drugs have been announced on the pharm.gov.uz website.

Starting July 1, 2026, prices for 2,500 types of prescription-only medicines in Uzbekistan's pharmacies have been reduced. This was reported by the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Sector announced.
According to the agency's press secretary, Anvarkhon Akabirov, new reference prices have been set for a number of types of medicines. Accordingly, prices for antibiotics and antimicrobial agents have been reduced by up to 50.1 percent, drugs used to treat cardiovascular system diseases by up to 37 percent, nervous system medications by up to 40 percent, and anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving preparations by up to 42 percent.
The agency representative emphasized that due to the new reference prices coming into effect, the sale of these medicines at previously valid reference prices is not permitted. Electronic invoices formalized in the tax committee's information systems at values exceeding the reference prices will be automatically monitored, and the ability to submit them will be restricted.
It is noted that the practice of state regulation of medicine prices is ongoing. A system for forming reference prices has been introduced to prevent unjustified price increases and ensure transparency in the pharmaceutical market.
International practice serves as the basis for calculating reference prices. This primarily takes into account average prices in reference countries, values in the country of drug manufacture, and prices under contracts for medicines imported into Uzbekistan over the past year.
According to the agency, the limited prices for prescription-only medicines have been published on the website pharm.gov.uz. Additionally, citizens can independently verify these by comparing the set limited prices and current retail prices for prescription drugs through the "PharmUz" mobile application.
