The idea of "For the Dignity of Man" was brought to the center of state policy — Shavkat Mirziyoyev
The bright memory of the First President, the distinguished statesman and political figure Islam Karimov, was honored with deep respect.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's state independence, spoke about the historical significance of independence and the reforms implemented in the country.
The head of state emphasized that in 1991, state independence was achieved through the will and determination of the people. It was noted that the roots of independence trace back to over three thousand years of statehood traditions and the history of ancient civilization.
It was highlighted that during the First and Second Renaissance periods, great scholars such as Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Ahmad al-Farghani, Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Alisher Navoi made significant contributions to the development of world science and thought.
It was also noted that the state established by Amir Temur earned a worthy place in history as a symbol of justice and construction.
The President stated that the dreams of freedom cherished by the Jadids—Mahmudkhodja Behbudiy, Munavvarqori Abdurashidkhanov, Abdurauf Fitrat, Abdulla Qodiriy, and Cholpon—who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the homeland and national independence, are being realized in today's Uzbekistan.
The head of state emphasized that independence has played a crucial role in the nation's awareness of its national identity.
"Independence restored our honor and dignity, our sacred religion, our mother tongue, and our national values that were being forgotten. Thanks to independence, we have come to understand ourselves and demonstrated to the whole world that we are worthy successors of our great ancestors," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the ceremony, the memory of ancestors and Jadids who sacrificed their lives for today's free life was honored. The selfless labor and courage of deceased compatriots who contributed to strengthening independence were recognized.
Also, the bright memory of the First President, the distinguished statesman and political figure Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov, was respectfully commemorated.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the great significance of independence is manifested, above all, in human dignity and a free life. He noted that from the very first days of the reforms, listening to the people's concerns and solving their problems was set as the main goal.
The principle of "For human dignity" was brought to the center of state policy. In this context, it was stated that problems that had plagued the population for years, such as "cotton slavery," forced and child labor, restrictions on currency convertibility, and the "propiska" system, were eliminated.
"Most importantly, fear and apprehension in the hearts of our citizens have been replaced by confidence and tranquility. Over the past ten years, we have worked tirelessly and diligently to build a society where every person lives freely and prosperously," said the President.
