Air quality in Tashkent may deteriorate: what will cause this?

On the night of October 24, due to unfavorable meteorological conditions, an increase in fine dust particles is expected in Tashkent. Starting from the morning, air quality is forecast to gradually improve.

According to the International Air Quality Index (AQI), air quality may reach an "unfavorable" level during the evening and night hours. According to the national index, the indicator is expected to remain mainly at the "yellow" level.

Experts explain this by the nighttime drop in air temperature, weak wind, and strong temperature inversion. Under such conditions, air exchange in the lower layers of the atmosphere is limited, and PM2.5 and PM10 particles may accumulate in areas near the ground.

In the morning, as the temperature inversion weakens, air quality is expected to gradually improve. Nevertheless, in some areas in the morning, air quality may remain at the "unfavorable for sensitive groups" level according to the international index.

Atmospheric air quality is continuously monitored by a special commission.
