17 killed as a result of Russia's attack on Ukraine: including children
Zelensky linked Russia's attack to the US decision to ease sanctions.

On October 10, Russia attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia in southern Ukraine. As a result, 17 people, including three children, were killed, and another 18 were injured. Reuters reported this.
During the attacks, one of the missiles or aerial bombs destroyed part of a residential building. Rescuers pulled the body of a 6-year-old girl from under the rubble.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky linked Russia's attack to the US decision to ease sanctions. He said that in response to the lifting of restrictions imposed on Russian diesel exports, Russia dropped five guided aerial bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia.
Zelensky emphasized that easing pressure on Russia could encourage Moscow to continue its attacks.
The Zaporizhzhia attack became the third attack in Ukraine in a week that caused numerous casualties. According to Reuters, nearly 80 civilians were killed as a result of Russian strikes on Wednesday and Thursday. Among them were at least 30 people from the city of Kramatorsk and 22 people from the city of Priluki.
On Saturday, a missile strike was also carried out on a restaurant in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. As a result, seven people were injured. Due to large-scale attacks by Russian drones, power supply was cut off in Kyiv and some surrounding areas. City metro trains stopped running for the second time this week.
Donald Trump announced an agreement to lift sanctions on Russian diesel exports. According to Reuters, this was caused by rising energy prices amid the US conflict with Iran.
Kyiv, for its part, favors increasing pressure on Moscow to force Russia into serious negotiations to end the war. Zelensky said Trump's decision was unexpected for Ukraine.
Trump's announcement came as Ukrainian and European officials met in Miami with US negotiators to work out a joint proposal to end the war.
After speaking with Trump by phone, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the likelihood of immediately resuming peace negotiations was low. He cited Ukraine's drone attacks on Moscow as the reason.
At the same time, the Lugansk governor appointed by Russia announced that four civilians were killed and five others were injured in the region as a result of Ukrainian attacks. Reuters wrote that it could not independently confirm this information.
