The state grant quota for women from needy families will be doubled.

Today, the number of girls studying in higher education institutions has exceeded 904 thousand, constituting 54 percent of all students. This was announced at a festive event held at the Kuksaroy residence on the occasion of International Women's Day.

It was noted at the event that last year, 60 Uzbek girls were admitted to the world's most prestigious universities.

Furthermore, women make up 8.5 thousand, or 61 percent, of those studying as research interns and doctoral students.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the achievements of Indira Satniyazova from Kegeyli district, Vazira Fayzullayeva from Bukhara, and Mashhura Qudratova from Navoi in international science olympiads, as well as the recognition of Dilafruz Juraboyeva, a winner of several international startup competitions from Buvayda, as the ambassador of the prestigious "Microsoft" company in Uzbekistan.

In addition, starting from the academic year, the state grant quota for women from needy families has been doubled and set at 4,000.

It was also noted that the tuition fees for female students studying at the master's level in joint educational programs with universities in the Top 300 will also be covered by the state.

From now on, startup competitions in at least 10 areas will be held annually to support women's innovative ideas. In this, the winner in each area will receive a grant of up to 500 million soums from the Innovation Fund.

Girls who have completed the 11th grade of school and entered state technical colleges will receive vocational training fully on a state grant basis.
