The Ministry of Transport criticized tour operators who left tourists stranded in the Middle East.

The Ministry of Transport criticized the activities of tour operators and agencies that left Uzbek citizens in difficult situations without assistance while they were on tourist trips in the Middle East.

According to the Ministry, during the process of evacuating citizens from the Middle East, it was found that nearly 95 percent of them traveled to this region through package tours.

However, it was noted that some tour operators and agents have cut off communication with their clients and are not providing them with necessary assistance.

The department emphasized that some operators are manipulating public opinion by spreading various videos on social networks without providing prompt and reliable information. At the same time, instead of fulfilling their obligations, they are leaving tourists to the responsibility of embassies and consulates.

The Ministry reminded that package travel services typically include hotel accommodation, air tickets, transfers, and insurance services. According to the terms of the insurance policy, in force majeure situations, all expenses related to passengers' accommodation, transportation, and evacuation must be covered.

Currently, organizational measures are being taken to evacuate Uzbek citizens remaining in the Middle East, particularly in the Qatar region, through Ar-Riyadh International Airport.

The Ministry informed that flights on international routes from Dammam International Airport and Ar-Riyadh airports in Saudi Arabia are operating without restrictions, and ticket sales are open. Additionally, flights to the cities of Jeddah and Medina are continuing as usual.

The Ministry of Transport called on tour operators and agencies to fully ensure consumer rights even in force majeure situations, maintain constant communication with clients, and take measures to evacuate them to safe areas using available flights.
