Penalties for violating electricity usage rules will be strengthened.
Fines for illegal connections to electricity, gas, and heating networks will be increased, and in some cases, administrative detention penalties will also be applied.

According to the law signed on March 11, amendments and additions were introduced to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
The law will enter into force 3 months after the day it is officially published.
According to the amendments introduced to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, unauthorized connection to or different violation of the rules for using public electricity, heating, or gas networks,
— will result in a fine for individuals from 15 to 20 times the BHM (from 6 million 180 thousand soums to 8 million 240 thousand soums),
— and for officials — from 25 to 30 times the BHM (from 10 million 300 thousand soums to 12 million 360 thousand soums).
Also, in the current edition, it is established that citizens are fined from 10 to 15 times the BHM, and officials — from 20 to 25 times the BHM.
Unauthorized connection to public electricity, heating, gas, or water supply networks for commercial purposes will result in a fine from 15 to 25 times the BHM (from 6 million 180 thousand soums to 8 million 240 thousand soums) or administrative detention for up to 15 days.
In the current edition, the fine amount for these violators is set from 10 to 20 times the BHM.
According to the amendments introduced to the Criminal Code, unauthorized connection to public electricity, heating, gas, or water supply networks, if committed after administrative punishment for such an act, will be punished with a fine from 30 to 75 times the BHM (from 12 million 360 thousand soums to 28 million 840 thousand soums) or compulsory community service for up to 240 hours or correctional labor for up to one year.
In the current edition, the minimum fine amount is set at 25 times the BHM.
