“The Strait of Hormuz is open to friendly countries” — Head of Iran’s IRIB
Abbas Araghchi stated that the Strait of Hormuz is only closed to enemy countries and their allies.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with state television that the Strait of Hormuz is open for the ships of friendly countries, including India, Russia, China, Pakistan, and Iraq.
According to the minister's words, although the strait constitutes approximately one-fifth of the world's oil and gas trade, it has not been completely closed.
"Safe passage has been ensured through our armed forces for the ships of friendly countries that have requested safe passage from us. This will continue in the future as well," said Araghchi.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized that ships belonging to the US, Israel, and their allies will not be permitted to pass through the strait.
"There is a war going on in the region. Passage through the Strait of Hormuz is prohibited for our enemies and their allies. For others, the way is open," said the minister.
This statement was announced following UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres's call to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Iran has informed that there is currently no plan to hold negotiations with the US.
